It's Foot Size. Not a shoe size. Here's Why.

When I was actively selling kids' barefoot shoes in the UK (as Bear-Foot Shoes) I found I was dealing with the same problem over and over.

Sizing.

The problem is that each manufacturer has their own last shape and size.

When is a size 10 not a size 10?

Turns out most of the time.

As many people know there is a massive variation between manufacturers for sizing as I showed in my former business. Some manfacuters even size different styles differently! (as you will see below).

My answer to this was to develop the sizing chart below. This allows the child's actual foot length to be compared to the internal shoe length.

You can see that in some cases a child can be two sizes different depending on manufacturer! That's nuts.

Size Chart For Some Kids Barefoot Brands

Measurements taken by Phil. This clearly shows the importance of measuring your child's foot length before ordering!

Can be used to determine size - scroll down the left column to determine which size to order.

Also a useful comparison of shoe lengths in one place!

Remember if you're using this to select shoes - allow 0.6-1.2cm space!

Also downloadable as an Excel file here. To be fair the Excel file is easier to read.
